THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata men's basketball team will open the 2024-25 season at the Bear Bash Tip-off Tournament hosted by Ursinus College.
  • Immaculata will play the host Ursinus on Friday night before taking on the winner or loser of the Washington & Lee vs Wilkes game on Saturday.
 
THE SERIES HISTORY
  • Immaculata and Ursinus are meeting for the sixth time in their series that began in 2005. Immaculata is 1-4 all-time vs Ursinus.
  • Immaculata and Wilkes have played each other twice in 2005 and in 2006 with Wilkes winning both games.
  • Immaculata and Washington & Lee have never played each other in men's basketball.
 
LAST MEETING
  • Ursinus defeated Immaculata 79-43 in their last meeting on December 10, 2022, at Ursinus. Tyler Tillery scored 13 points to lead Immaculata.
  • Immaculata fell to Wilkes 78-72 in their last meeting on November 27, 2006. Current Immaculata assistant coach Kyle Finklea scored 19 points and current Head Coach Jayson Hyman scored 18 points and had seven rebounds.
 
A LOOK BACK AT 2023-24
  • The Mighty Macs got off to a quick start in 2023-24 winning the Stevenson Tournament defeating Notre Dame of Maryland 66-46, and Stevenson 66-64.
  • Immaculata followed that up with wins over Albright, Penn State Berks, and Mississippi University for Women.
  • Immaculata would finish the season 6-6 in Atlantic East Conference play to earn the fifth seed in the AEC Tournament.
  • Immaculata would defeat Neumann University on their home floor in the AEC Quarterfinals 67-64, to advance to the AEC Semifinals for a fifth consecutive season.
  • Immaculata fell to eventual Champion Marymount in the semifinals.

SCOUTING URSINUS
  • Ursinus finished the 2023-24 season 13-13 overall, and 9-9 in the Centennial Conference.
  • Ursinus fell to Swarthmore 80-65 in the Centennial Conference Tournament First Round.
  • Ursinus returns their leading scorer Senior guard Trevor Wall who averaged 19 PPG with 93 rebounds, 65 assists, and 30 steals.
 
SCOUTING WILKES
  • Wilkes finished the 2023-24 season 19-8 overall, and 11-7 in the Landmark Conference.
  • Wilkes fell to Catholic in the Landmark Semifinals 93-88 in OT.
  • Wilkes returns their leading scorer junior forward Lucas Lesko who average 16.9 PPG, and had 148 rebounds, 35 assists, 39 blocks, and 18 steals.
 
SCOUTING WASHINGTON & LEE
  • Washington & Lee finished 2023-24 18-10 overall, and 10-6 in the ODAC.
  • The Generals fell in the ODAC Championship Game to Hamden Sydney 81-56.
  • Washington & Lee return junior forward John Loughlin who scored 137 points with 93 rebounds, 25 assists, and 11 steals.

  • The Immaculata men's basketball team will be back in action on Monday, November 11th when they visit Moravian. Tipoff is at 8:00 pm.
