Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Crews Joins 1,000-Point Club, but Men’s Basketball Stymied by Marymount Saints in Home Finale

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata men's basketball were unable to overcome the Marymount University Saints on Wednesday evening, 97-52, but Dylan Crews became the ninth Immaculata men's basketball player to score his 1,000th point.

The Mighty Macs are 4-20 for the season. They are 3-10 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MARYMOUNT
  • The game was quiet on both sides in the early stages, as it was still 3-0 Marymount almost three minutes into the first half. Crews logged the first six points for the Mighty Macs to keep the score close. However, a monster 19-0 Saints run gave them a double-digit lead. Despite Crews having 13 of his 21 points in the first half, the Saints took a 57-22 advantage going into the locker room.
  • Christian Chambers earned a trip to the free throw line to open the second half. With under 17 minutes to go, Crews converted on consecutive three-pointers. The second triple at 16:14 was the bucket to give him 1,000 points, and head coach Kyle Stramara called a timeout for the team to celebrate the achievement. Seniors Jalen Flowers and Kevin Telesford got the final points for Immaculata, even with the final score being 97-52 Marymount.
