Finklea is an Immaculata alumni with his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Kyle was a member of the Inaugural men's basketball team in 2005 and was also a member of the 2008 PAC Championship team that earned an NCAA Tournament berth.

As a Mighty Mac, Finklea finished his career as the program’s all time leader in points scored with 1,544 as well as field goals made with 584. Finklea also holds the highest scoring average for a career with 15.6 PPG.
Finklea also has experience as a regional AAU basketball coach with Under Armour sponsored, We R1 where he won Back to Back 17u National Championships in 2016. Presently he is an assistant coach with Nike sponsored Team Final. There he won the 2021 Nike Peach Jam Championship. Between the two coaching stints Kyle has coached 4 NBA draft picks and helped guide 30+ players attain full athletic scholarships.Â
