IMMACULATA, Pa.-On a beautiful Wednesday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium the Immaculata field hockey team (6-11, 2-3 CSAC) hosted the Notre Dame of Maryland Gators (1-11, 0-5 CSAC) as IU looked to snap a losing streak, and they broke out in a big way with a 14-1 victory.

The Macs were led by a new school record 13 points from junior
Megan Donegan as she tied the school record with five goals and added three assists. The Mighty Macs also shattered the assist record compiling 14 assists on the day to beat the previous record of five.

The Macs dominated the first half of play getting numerous great looks at the cage, however, the Gators would open the scoring first jumping out to an early lead when in the fourth minute when sophomore Megan Morales gave the Gators an early 1-0 lead. The Macs would quickly answer back in the sixth minute when sophomore
Jackie Wood broke through off an assist from junior
Megan Donegan. Donegan would take over from there scoring the next two goals in the 8
th and 19
th minutes with her goal in the goal in the 19
th coming off an assist from freshman
Colleen Bradley.

Senior
Brittany Robertson joined in on the fun as she scored in the 20
th minute off an assist from junior
Antonia Vicari to make the score 5-1. The Macs would score again in the 25
th minute when freshman
Layne Kennedy took a pass from Donegan to make the score 6-1. Donegan was not done as she would score again in the 19
th and 31
st minutes. Â Robertson would followed up just seconds later with a goal of her own after a deflection in front. Robertson wasn't done as she added another in the 33
rd minute when she got a great pass across the crease from sophomore
Hilary Burkholder.

The Macs would score one more time just before half when senior
Haley O'Donnell took a pass in front from Burkholder and buried it in the back of the net for the first goal of her career to make the score 10-1. Senior goalie
Sarah Pasternak would finish the day with no saves as her day was done after the first half.

In the second half the Macs continued to apply steady pressure and they would break through for another goal in the 50
th minute when Donegan got her fifth goal of the game off an assist from Bradley to make the score 11-1. This goal gave the Macs their most goals as a team against any opponent in the last 15 years. Â The Macs struck again when Burkholder scored off an assist from Donegan to make the score 12-1 in the 53
rd minute. Junior
Nicole Dominick got in the act off an assist from Burkholder in the 54
th minute.

The Macs scored one more time in the 63
rd minute when freshman
Maura Power broke through for the first goal of her career thanks to a great assist from senior
Megan Wheeler to make the final score 14-1. Senior goalie
Emily Beavers came in to relieve Pasternak and also had a quiet second half as she did not face any shots. Senior goalie De'Ja Martin worked hard for the Gators making 12 saves but it would not be enough to shut down the Macs.

The Macs next home game will be Saturday the 22
nd in what will be both their Pink game and Senior Day when they take on Cedar Crest beginning at 1 p.m. The Macs will have one more home game after this when they host the perennial power in the Cabrini Cavaliers for a 4 p.m. start on the 27
th.
