Field Hockey 2025 Season Recap

SEASON OVERVIEW
 
The Immaculata University field hockey team earned seven wins during the 2025 season while competing with a young roster under longtime head coach Kate Stopford. The Mighty Macs finished third in the Atlantic East Conference with a 2–2 league record and qualified for the AEC Tournament for the fourth consecutive season, advancing to the semifinals.
 
Immaculata navigated a challenging non-conference schedule featuring opponents from the MAC Commonwealth, MAC Freedom, NJAC, and Centennial Conference before enter Conference Play.

Immaculata went 2-2 in Atlantic East Conference play with wins over Manhattanville and Gwynedd Mercy, earning the No. 3 seed in the AEC Tournament. The Mighty Macs dropped a hard-fought 2–1 decision at Neumann in the AEC Semifinals.

  • Alexis Andrada: All-Atlantic East Conference First Team, Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Selection, AEC Player of the Week on September 8, named to the AEC Weekly Honor Roll three times in 2025.
  • Abby Fekete: All-Atlantic East Conference First Team, Named to the AEC Weekly Honor Roll on September 14.
  • Mackenzie Schrack: All-Atlantic East Conference First Team, Named AEC Defensive Player of the Week two times in 2025.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
  • Alexis Andrada delivered an outstanding campaign, leading the Mighty Macs with a career-high 12 goals and 21 points. She recorded multiple multi-goal games, including a hat trick against Cedar Crest on September 27. Andrada scored Immaculata's lone goal in the AEC Semifinal at Neumann, marking her second career postseason goal. She earned All-AEC First Team honors for the second consecutive season.
  • Abby Fekete earned All-AEC First Team recognition after starting all 20 games in her senior season. She scored two goals, including the game-winner against Lancaster Bible on September 12, and anchored a strong defensive unit. Fekete concluded her career having started all 75 games Immaculata played during her four years with the program.
  • Mackenzie Schrack made an immediate impact in her debut season, earning All-AEC First Team honors. She appeared in 19 games, starting in 17, and totaled 90 saves while recording three shutouts. Schrack earned her first collegiate win at FDU-Florham on August 30 and stopped a penalty stroke in a key AEC road win at Manhattanville on October 17. She was named AEC Defensive Player of the Week twice.
  • Victoria Atkinson enjoyed a breakout sophomore season, starting all 20 games and earning All-AEC Second Team honors. A key presence on the backline, Atkinson recorded four defensive saves, including three against St. Mary's (Md.) on October 8.
  • Maria Freeman earned All-AEC Second Team honors following an impressive first season. Freeman tied for the team lead with three assists, scored her first collegiate goal against King's College on September 6, and played a pivotal role in Immaculata's 2–0 AEC win at Manhattanville. She was named AEC Defensive Player of the Week on October 20.
  • Rachel Madden provided consistent leadership during her senior season, starting all 20 games and recording a defensive save against Oswego State. She was named AEC Defensive Player of the Week on September 15 after helping limit Lancaster Bible to just two shots in a 3–0 victory.
  • Morgan Barnes made an immediate impact in her debut season, scoring four goals and tying for the team lead in assists with three. She netted her first collegiate goal against nationally ranked Bryn Mawr and scored in consecutive games against Kean and Oswego State.
  • Gabrielle O'Brien, a second-year captain, appeared in 18 games with 11 starts in her senior campaign. Her lone goal of the season proved to be the game-winner on Senior Day in a 1–0 victory over Wooster.
  • Maria Berenato earned AEC Weekly Honors on October 20 after scoring the game-winning goal in Immaculata's AEC-opening victory at Manhattanville.
  • Gigi Fox scored her first collegiate goal in dramatic fashion, netting the overtime game-winner in a 3–2 comeback win at Gwynedd Mercy that clinched an AEC playoff berth.
  • Alexa Marczak scored the game-winning goal in Immaculata's season-opening win at FDU-Florham and later assisted on the Mighty Macs' goal in the AEC Semifinal.
  • Emilyn Bivens appeared in all 20 games and scored the tying goal in Immaculata's AEC road win at Gwynedd Mercy, which the Mighty Macs went on to win in overtime.
  • Taylor Eagan played in all 20 games during her first collegiate season and scored her first career goal against Alvernia on September 23.
