Box Score LA PLUME, Pa.- For the second straight Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) game, the Immaculata field hockey team went to overtime, and after falling in double overtime a week ago at Neumann, the Mighty Macs (6-8, 2-1 CSAC) earned the 3-2 win over Keystone (2-12, 1-3 CSAC) behind the game-winner from senior
Lindsay Cras in the first overtime. Immaculata overcame a 2-0 deficit by scoring the final three goals of the contest.
Cras scored her first goal of the season and the sixth of her career 5:28 into the overtime period. She collected a rebound in front of the goalkeeper and found the back of the net to lift the Mighty Macs to the crucial CSAC victory.
The Mighty Macs got off to a slow start as Keystone took the first seven shots of the game and applied heavy pressure throughout the first half, netting goals in the 15
th and 29
th minutes to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Immaculata came out fast and would outshoot Keystone 17-4 in the second half and overtime as they erased the two goal deficit with three unanswered goals.
Just 47 seconds into the second half, freshman
Megan Donegan scored the first goal of her career on an assist from
Nicole Dominick, her second of the season, to jump start the Mighty Mac comeback. Donegan scored from about seven yards out.
The score would remain 2-1 for much of the second half until freshman
Brooke Robinson scored her fourth goal of the season on an assist from senior
Danielle Lopez off a penalty corner with just under ten minutes remaining in the game to tie the game at 2-2.
The score would hold until the game-winner off the stick of Cras in the extra session.
Sophomore goalie
Sarah Pasternak played the whole game in net and made 10 saves, while senior
Ashley O'Donnell led the team in shots with eight.
The Mighty Macs will look to continue their winning ways on Wednesday when they host Franklin & Marshall at 4 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
NOTES:Pasternak moved alone into third place on the all-time saves list with 222, passing Mary Moughan (2002-04) ... She is also now alone in third in wins with eight, passing Natalie Slezak (2011).
