Baseball Takes Finale From Philadelphia Bible, 17-6

LANGHORNE, Pa. – Immaculata University completed the series sweep against Philadelphia Biblical University on Tuesday afternoon, 17-6, as the Mighty Macs hammered out 20 hits.

Immaculata evened its Colonial States Athletic Conference mark at 3-3 while improving to 8-11 overall. Philadelphia Bible is now 2-14 overall and 0-9 in the league.

Five Immaculata players each registered three hits and Immaculata plated runs in seven of the nine innings. Richard Cusic, Matt Hardy, Joe Rawlings, TJ Warner and Ernell Harley all finished with three hits.

The Mighty Macs jumped out to a 4-0 lead following the top of the second, but a five run bottom of the second gave the hosts a one-run edge, 5-4.

Immaculata responded by belting out six runs in the top of the third, including a grand slam from Hardy, to break open a 10-5 lead, and never looked back the rest of the way.

Aaron Dietrich pitched seven innings for Immaculata to get the win. He allowed five runs on six hits. Andrew McCoy pitched the eighth allowing just one hit, and Andrew Dietrich closed out the ninth allowing one run on two hits.

Matt Betts suffered the loss on the mound for the Crimson Eagles. He lasted 7.2 innings and gave up 10 earned runs on 15 hits.

Immaculata will look to continue its win streak on Friday when it travels to Marywood at 3 p.m.
