Baseball Season Ends in Atlantic East Tournament Loss to Centenary

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Immaculata baseball team saw its 2026 season come to an end Friday with a 16-8 loss to Centenary University in an Atlantic East Conference Tournament elimination game in Hackettstown.
 
Centenary used a nine-run first inning to seize control early, but the Macs responded with offense across four different innings and finished with 13 hits on the afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST CENTENARY
  • After the hosts opened the scoring with nine runs in the bottom of the first, Immaculata answered in the second inning. Danny Nocito doubled down the left field line before scoring on a wild pitch. Later in the inning, Nick Turnage lifted a sacrifice fly to center to plate the Macs' first run, while Josh Goulburn worked a bases-loaded walk to cut the deficit to 9-2.
  • After Centenary added a run in the bottom of the second, Immaculata continued to rally in the third with four more runs. Following an error and a single from Hunter Weitzel, Nocito delivered a two-run triple to right-center. Turnage followed with an RBI single before Ryan Nace tripled home another run to trim the margin to 10-6.
  • The Macs added another run in the fourth inning when Matt Passerini walked and later scored on an RBI single by Weitzel to cut the lead to 10-7.
  • Centenary added a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 12-7.
  • In the fifth, Nocito singled, stole second, and advanced to third before scoring on Nace's second RBI triple of the day to make it a 12-8 game.
  • Centenary would add a pair of runs in the seventh and a pair in the eighth to provide the winning margin.

  • Today's game marked the conclusion of the 2026 season for the Immaculata baseball team. They finished their season 15-24 overall, 10-8 in Atlantic East Conference play, earning their seventh consecutive AEC Tournament appearance.
