Mighty Macs Swept By Giants In Baseball

LA PLUME, Pa.
- Keystone College closed out the weekend baseball series against Immaculata University by sweeping the visiting Mighty Macs in Saturday's doubleheader, 14-7 and 17-7.

Immaculata falls to 11-21 overall and 5-10 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference following today's action. Keystone improved to 20-6 overall and 13-2 in the CSAC.

Kris Hazlett, Brandon Seibert, Matt Hardy and Joe Rawlings each pounded out two hits during the doubleheader, combining for eight of Immaculata's 12 combined hits during the two games. Hazlett and Hardy each had three RBI, and Seibert and David News had two RBI apiece.

In the opener, Keystone scored 13 runs over the first four innings as it put up two runs in the first and second innings, before adding four in the third and five in the fourth.

Immaculata got one run back in both the second and third, but Keystone held a 13-2 lead through four innings.

The Mighty Macs had their big inning in the fifth as the belted out five runs. Hardy hit a double to lead off the inning, and Rawlings singled to pick up Immaculata's only two hits of the half inning.

Keystone's Mike Hanley started and had four innings of work in the win. He allowed two runs on three hits while walking six and striking out five.

Immaculata starter Ernell Harley went just 1.2 innings and took the loss. He allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits. He walked three and struck out two. Andrew McCoy pitched pitched two-thirds of an innings, giving up four runs. Joe Caria pitched the final 4.2 innings for the Mighty Macs, giving up seven hits and six runs, four earned.

In the nightcap, the Giants scored four run in the top half of the first and put things out of reach with an eight-run third inning.

Immaculata scored one run in the bottom of the first had Hardy had a sacrifice fly, scoring News.

The Mighty Macs scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to make the final margin.

Sean Murphy worked six innings for Keystone, allowing seven hits and seven runs, but none of them were earned. He struck out four and walked two.

Aaron Dietrich pitched the first three innings for Immaculata. He gave up 12 hits and eight earned runs. Richard Cusic pitched the last four innings, allowing five runs on seven hits.

Immaculata heads to Neumann on Friday, April 30 for a 3 p.m. single game.
