YORK, Pa. – Immaculata University's baseball team dropped two games to York College on Tuesday afternoon. The Spartans shut the Mighty Macs out in both games, as York won game one, 10-0, and the nightcap, 8-0.
In the opener, Joe Rawlings and Chris Dickinson recorded the Mighty Macs' only two hits. Aaron Dietrich pitched five innings on the mound for Immaculata, allowing all 10 York runs, and taking the loss. He allowed 13 hits and walked five. Andrew McCoy pitched the final inning, allowing just one hit.
York scored four runs in the second, five more in the third and finished the scoring in the fourth with one run. Rob Klinck led the Spartans in game one going 3-for-4 with six RBI and three runs scored. Andy Rosenzweig pitched five shutout innings to earn the win. He walked one, struck out two and allowed just the two hits. Tommy Moran completed the final two innings without allowing a hit.
Immaculata managed four hits in game two, led by David News' 2-for-3 effort from the plate. Patrick Boulware and Richard Cusic each picked up one hit apiece.
The Spartans went ahead early, scoring three runs in the first and two more in the second. After the Mighty Macs held scoreless in the third, the Spartans added two more runs in the fourth and one run in the sixth.
Ernell Harley took the loss after pitching five innings, allowing seven runs on 10 hits. MCcoy made his second appearance of the afternoon as he came on for the final inning, allowing just one unearned run.
Jason Christenberry pitched five strong innings to get the win. He only allowed two hits. Matt Monti collected a team-best three hits, scored four runs and drove in one for York.
Immaculata heads to Keystone on Friday for a 3 p.m. first pitch with the Giants.
