IMMACULATA, Pa. - The Immaculata volleyball team rallied to win the fourth set to force a deciding fifth set, but fell short against Penn State Berks, 3-2, on Thursday night. Immaculata fell with game scores 20-25, 25-18, 25-18, 23-25, 18-16.
The Mighty Macs are now 1-5 overall and the Nittany Lions improve to 4-4.
Jayme Lenosky held game-high honors with 17 kills and finished her double-double performance with 16 digs. Lenosky also recorded two solo blocks. Nicole Preziuso also register a double-double with 11 kills and 19 digs. Kathleen Haefner rounded out the Mighty Mac trio with double-doubles with 34 assists and 19 digs.
Overall, Immaculata had six players in double-digits digs.
Lisa Bifulco amassed 17 digs,Courtney Sahm tallied 13 digs and Terri Reynolds had a match-best 28 digs.
Penn State Berks was led by Sarah Johnson's triple-double with 12 kills, 24 assists and 20 digs. Rosemarie Scherzberg and Erin Parrish each tallied double-double performances. Scherzberg amassed 14 kills and 24 digs to lead the Nittany Lions in both columns. Parrish recorded 11 assists and 14 digs.
Immaculata hosts Bryn Mawr on Monday at 7 p.m. at Alumnae Hall.
