Women's Volleyball Hosts Moravian Tuesday for Hispanic Heritage Night

WHAT TO KNOW
  • The Immaculata University women's volleyball team returns home Tuesday evening when the Mighty Macs welcome Moravian University to Alumnae Hall for a 6 p.m. non-conference matchup.
  • Immaculata (2-10) enters Tuesday's matchup after competing in four matches last week, including a pair of 3-1 setbacks at the Ursinus Tri-Match on Saturday.
  • Moravian enters Tuesday's contest after earning a 3-1 victory over Neumann University on Saturday. The Greyhounds improved to 8-3 on the season with the victory, hitting .290 as a team against the Knights.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Tuesday's matchup will be the fourth meeting all-time between Immaculata and Moravian in women's volleyball.
  • Moravian currently holds a 3-0 advantage in the all-time series.

MIGHTY MAC NOTES
  • Madi Kyle has emerged as one of Immaculata's top offensive options during her first collegiate season. Kyle leads the Mighty Macs with 89 kills and has recorded double-digit kills in each of Immaculata's last two matches, including a career-best 14 kills against Ursinus. For her play, Kyle was named to the Atlantic East Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon.
  • Tara Hirschtritt continues to provide production in multiple areas for the Mighty Macs. The first-year right-side/setter recorded 10 kills, 12 assists, nine digs, and three service aces against Ursinus on Saturday.
  • Angelica Santini Bulerin continues to direct the Immaculata offense. The sophomore setter leads the Mighty Macs with 174 assists and recorded 26 assists in Saturday's match against Ursinus.
  • Adriana Ventura has been a steady defensive presence throughout the opening portion of the season. The sophomore libero leads the Mighty Macs with 154 digs and added 24 digs across Saturday's two matches.
  • Eliana Szatkowski continues to anchor the Mighty Macs' front row. The junior middle leads Immaculata with 28 total blocks and has also provided an offensive presence.
  • Immaculata will be looking to bounce back at home after dropping consecutive matches to Arcadia and Lebanon Valley last week, before Saturday's two 3-1 setbacks.
 
SCOUTING MORAVIAN
  • Moravian enters Tuesday's contest with an 8-3 overall record after defeating Neumann 3-1 on Saturday.
  • The Greyhounds have received a balanced offensive attack early in the season. Against Neumann, Melissa Eddy, Julia Solomon and Taylor Dinnis each recorded 14 kills, while Moravian hit .290 as a team.
  • Emma Kovacs directed the Moravian offense and handed out 35 assists in Saturday's victory. Kovacs also contributed nine digs and four service aces.
  • Hannah Strohm has been an important defensive contributor for the Greyhounds, finishing Saturday's match with 17 digs.
  • Kyndra Dale added six kills and two blocks against Neumann, while Soleil-La'Jour Staggs recorded three blocks.
  • Moravian opened its season against DeSales on September 1, falling 3-0 before responding with a strong stretch of play.
 
HISPANIC HERITAGE NIGHT
  • Tuesday's match will serve as Hispanic Heritage Night at Alumnae Hall.
  • The celebration will recognize Hispanic culture and community while bringing the Immaculata community together through Mighty Mac athletics.
  • A traditional Mexican dance performance will take place following the first set, providing an additional highlight to the evening's festivities.
 
UP NEXT
  • Following Tuesday's home match, Immaculata will travel to Washington College on Saturday, September 26, for a tri-match. The Mighty Macs will face Rutgers-Newark at 1 p.m. before meeting host Washington College at 3 p.m.
