Three Mighty Macs Lacrosse Players Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its Academic All-District At-Large Team selections on Tuesday afternoon, and Immaculata had three men's lacrosse players earn honors.

Daniel Alvarez (Westminster, Md. / Westminster), Ryan Gorman (Newtown Square, Pa. / Marple Newtown), and Jason Smaron (Philadelphia, Pa. / Father Judge) earned honors.

Daniel Alvarez started all 18 games while helping anchor one of the conference's top defensive units. Alvarez totaled 40 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers, consistently making an impact through his physical play, defensive awareness, and ability to disrupt opposing offenses. He turned in several standout performances during the season, including a three-caused turnover effort against King's College and a six-ground-ball performance in the season opener at Arcadia University.
Alvarez also scored the first goal of his collegiate career in the Atlantic East Conference Championship Game against Marymount University

Ryan Gorman started all 18 games and earned All-Atlantic East Conference Second Team honors after finishing the 2026 season with 40 points on 24 goals and 16 assists. A consistent offensive threat throughout the year, Gorman recorded five-point performances against Aurora University and four-point outings against Alvernia University and Gwynedd Mercy University.

Gorman elevated his play in the postseason, scoring two goals and adding two assists in the Atlantic East Conference semifinal victory over Gwynedd Mercy before netting two more goals in the conference championship game. He also contributed six man-up goals and provided strong all-around play with 19 ground balls and eight caused turnovers.

Jason Smaron started all 20 games and emerged as one of the Atlantic East Conference's premier offensive playmakers during the 2026 season. Smaron earned All-Atlantic East Conference First Team honors after leading the team with 68 points on 32 goals and 36 assists, while also pacing the squad in assists.

A clutch performer throughout the year, Smaron recorded four game-winning goals, including the game-winner with 10 seconds remaining in the home opener against Saint Vincent College. He also delivered a dramatic game-tying goal with 19 seconds left against Marymount University on March 27, helping force overtime. He posted multiple six-point performances during the season and consistently fueled the offense with his scoring and playmaking. He finished the year with an impressive .735 shots-on-goal percentage.

The 2026 Academic All-District® At Large Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom for sports that do not have their own All-District teams. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

To be selected, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution. At the time of nomination, athletes must have played in at least 90 percent of the team's games or have started in at least 66 percent of the games.
