MIGHTY MAC NOTES
  • Jason Smaron continues to drive Immaculata's offense and is coming off a dominant performance against Gwynedd Mercy, recording 4 goals and 1 assist. His ability to score in multiple ways—both unassisted and within the offense—was on full display. On the season, Smaron leads the team with 53 points (26 goals, 27 assists).
  • Aaron Headley turned in a strong outing with 3 goals in the win, including a late fourth-quarter score to seal the game. He is one of the team's top pure scorers, ranking second with 25 goals this season while leading the team in shots (100).
  • Ryan Gorman contributed 2 goals in the last game and continues to be a reliable scoring option from the midfield. With 19 goals and 31 points on the season, he provides consistency and depth behind the primary attack unit.
  • Nick Senatore had an impactful performance with a goal and 2 assists against Gwynedd Mercy, playing a key role in initiating offense. He has been especially effective on man-up opportunities, leading the team with 9 extra-man goals.
  • Jude Azzarano contributed an assist in the last game and continues to be one of the team's top playmakers. He has recorded 38 points (18 goals, 20 assists) this season, ranking among the team leaders in both categories.
  • Brian Fuchs faced a tough matchup at the faceoff X in the last game, but he continues to be a key part of the unit. He is 42-for-120 on the season. As a team, Immaculata holds a slight edge in faceoff percentage (.516), and continued improvement in this area will be important for maintaining possession.
  • Colton Rhoades contributes as a physical and active defender, recording caused turnovers in the last game. He leads the team with 40 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.
  • Colin Wolk and the defensive group played a strong game against Gwynedd Mercy, helping limit them to just 5 goals despite 35 shots. Wolk has totaled 32 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers this season, anchoring a defense that has steadily improved. The unit's ability to force turnovers and support transition has been a key factor in recent success.
  • Matthew Ludlow was outstanding in the win, recording 20 saves, and anchoring the defensive effort. He has been one of the team's most consistent performers, posting a .667 save percentage and a 7.64 goals-against average on the season. Ludlow is currently third in the nation in Division III in save percentage.

SCOUTING MONTCLAIR STATE
  • Ryan Vierbuchen has been one of the primary offensive engines, leading the team with 42 goals and 61 points on 137 shots. He consistently generates high-volume scoring chances and is a key initiator in settled offensive sets, making him Montclair's most dangerous finisher.
  • Brian Kelly adds another elite scoring threat with 37 goals and 56 points, shooting 134 times on the season. His ability to finish in transition and complement Vierbuchen gives Montclair a balanced top attack duo that can strike quickly.
  • Jonathan Slusser contributed 31 goals and 35 points, providing consistent secondary scoring. His efficiency inside the offensive structure makes him a reliable option when defenses collapse on the primary shooters.
  • Jacob Holicki manages significant faceoff responsibilities and has been a major possession driver, while also adding 65 ground balls. His performance at the X directly impacts Montclair's ability to control pace and offensive volume.
  • Nicholi Halse anchors the defense in goal with 142 saves and a .542 save percentage across the season. His steady presence in the net has been a key factor in Montclair's 11-win campaign and its ability to hold leads in tight games.

AEC WEEKLY HONORS
  • Immaculata swept the AEC Weekly Awards as Jason Smaron was named AEC Player of the Week, and Matthew Luddlow was named AEC Defensive Player of the Week.
  • Smaron recorded a combined five goals and three assists, for eight points, along with five ground balls and two caused turnovers, helping lead Immaculata to a pair of Atlantic East Conference victories. Smaron scored one goal, two assists, and three points in the win at Marywood, couple with an impressive performance in Saturday's conference win over Gwynedd Mercy, finishing with four goals, one assist, five points, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
  • Ludlow was outstanding in net for Immaculata, recording a combined 33 saves and seven ground balls, posting a .767 save percentage.
