HADDONFIELD, N.J. – The Atlantic East Conference announced its Women's Basketball postseason awards on Wednesday afternoon, and Immaculata University swept the major honors. Four Mighty Mac players and the coaching staff received Atlantic East Conference recognition.
Carly Coleman (Springfield, Pa. / Cardinal O'Hara) was named Atlantic East Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Coleman completed a dominant sophomore season, scoring 433 points and averaging 17.3 points per game while shooting 48.6% from the field. She recorded 18 double-doubles and added two triple-doubles during the season.
Defensively, Coleman led the Atlantic East Conference with 272 rebounds, averaging 10.9 per game, and topped the conference with 71 steals. She also recorded 29 blocks, ranking fifth in the conference.
In addition to these honors, Coleman was named to the All-Atlantic East Conference First Team and earned Atlantic East Conference Tournament MVP honors.
Abby Grillo (Wilmington, Del. / Padua Academy) was named Atlantic East Conference Rookie of the Year. Grillo started every game in her first season at Immaculata, scoring 323 points and averaging 12.9 points per game. She added 132 rebounds (5.3 per game), hit 41 three-pointers, distributed 54 assists, recorded 17 blocks, and 45 steals.
Grillo was also named to the All-Atlantic East Conference Second Team.
Riley Cassidy (Ocean City, N.J. / Episcopal) earned the Atlantic East Conference Elite Scholar Award. Formerly known as the Elite-20 Award, the honor is given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the championship finals site. Cassidy was recognized for her excellence in the classroom, as well as her leadership and performance on the court.
Olivia Ettorre (Mickleton, N.J. / Kingsway Regional) was also named to the All-Atlantic East Conference Second Team. Ettorre started and played in all 27 games for Immaculata, averaging 12.9 points per game and scoring 340 total points. She shot 40.6% from the field and 37.9% from three-point range, making 55 three-pointers. Ettorre also averaged 3.9 rebounds per game while adding 56 assists, 20 blocks, and 42 steals.

The Immaculata women's basketball coaching staff was named Atlantic East Conference Coaching Staff of the Year, including Head Coach
Brittany Whalen and Assistant Coaches
Dave Parker,
Chelsea Turgeon,
John Flood, and
Tori Foster.
Immaculata's season continues in the NCAA Tournament on Friday evening. The Mighty Macs will face No. 21 SUNY New Paltz at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio, with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
