IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata baseball will return to the diamond this Saturday, Feb. 28, for the start of the 2026 season.
Josh Copskey is in his fifth season as the Mighty Macs' skipper.
Copskey said there is excitement building up for the new campaign.
"The group has brought great energy and focus from day one," he said. "Practices have been competitive, detail-oriented, and the players have shown a strong commitment to conditioning, weightlifting, fundamentals, and holding each other accountable. Overall, there's a confident, but hungry, mindset around the team. [I] cannot wait to start playing some ball."
Preseason Overview
Immaculata opens the season on Feb. 28 for the Shenandoah Mr. V Memorial Tournament. They will play the host, along with Oswego State and Piedmont, the latter two of whom the Mighty Macs have never played in baseball before.
March kicks off with the first two home games of the year. Swarthmore and Rhode Island College visit campus on March 3 and 5, respectively. The Mighty Macs then head to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for The Ripken Experience. They will play a grueling nine games in eight days against a variety of opponents. Immaculata enters conference play on March 20 against the reigning-champion Marymount. Penn State Abington welcomes Immaculata to Abington, Pa. to conclude the March slate.
In April, conference play continues, and Immaculata sees a handful of NJAC opponents, such as Stockton, TCNJ, and Rowan. The Mighty Macs finish the month with a trip to Salisbury.
The regular season ends in early May with a conference series against Centenary (N.J.).
Conference playoffs go from May 6-9.
Roster Check
The Mighty Macs have 23 players returning to the 2026 roster. These include, but are not limited to,

Ryan Nace, and
Robert Woodward. Players like
Alex LePage,
Stephen Devanney, and
Aidan Jackson return to the mound.
Copskey said the returners will be called upon not only for their play, but for their leadership.
"Our leadership starts with our upperclassmen, especially the returning starters who set the tone both on and off the field," he said.

Immaculata has plenty of newcomers coming to the team this season, whether that be by freshmen or transfers.

Copskey said the team's new additions will be in a prime position to see the field immediately.
"We have several newcomers who have impressed us and will compete for meaningful roles right away," Copskey said. "Their athleticism, maturity, and ability to adjust to the college game have stood out, and we expect a few of them to contribute immediately in key situations."
Season Outlook
Copskey said the team's goals are to compete hard throughout the season and play their best brand of baseball as the playoffs approach.
"Our expectations are to compete every day, play fundamentally-sound baseball, and represent our program with toughness and class," Copskey said. "We want to put ourselves in position to contend for our conference, improve steadily throughout the season, and ultimately be playing our best baseball when it matters most."
