Carly Coleman Named Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Week

HADDONFIELD, N.J. – The Atlantic East Conference released its weekly women's basketball awards on Monday afternoon. Immaculata's Carly Coleman was named Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Week for a third time this season. This is the third straight week Coleman has won a weekly award, having been AEC Player of the Week the two previous weeks.

Carly Coleman (Springfield, Pa. / Cardinal O'Hara) anchored Immaculata on the defensive end during another dominant week, piling up 10 steals and four blocked shots while adding 20 rebounds to help lead the Mighty Macs to a pair of Atlantic East Conference victories. Coleman also contributed 35 points and nine assists, recording her 10th and 11th double-doubles of the season.

In Wednesday's win over Marymount, Coleman set the tone defensively with four blocks and four steals to go along with 10 rebounds (six defensive), disrupting the Saints all night. She added 22 points on offense and delivered the decisive moment, knocking down a pull-up jumper with 15 seconds remaining to give Immaculata the lead for good.

Coleman continued her defensive dominance in Saturday's victory over Pratt, finishing with six steals and 10 rebounds (six defensive) while controlling the game on both ends of the floor. She added 13 points and six assists in just 27 minutes as Immaculata secured its second conference win of the week.

Coleman and the Immaculata women's team will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Marywood for an AEC matchup at 6 p.m.
