Men's & Women's Cross-Country to Compete in Philadelphia Cross Classic on Saturday

WHAT TO KNOW
  • The Immaculata Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams will be competing in the Philadelphia Cross Classic hosted by Jefferson University at the Belmont Plateau Park in Philadelphia.
  • The event includes a field of Division II schools including Jefferson, Holy Family, Wilmington, Dominican, and Felician. The field also includes Division III schools Albright, and Saint Mary's College of Maryland.
  • The race is held at Belmont Plateau Park, which is a challenging course that has hosted collegiate and senior races going back to the 1960's.
 
RECENT HISTORY AT THIS EVENT
  • Immaculata competes yearly at the Philadelphia Cross Classic, formerly known as the Philadelphia Metropolitan Small College Championships.
  • The Immaculata Women's team finished fourth out of nine teams competing in 2024, with 126 points. Aubrey Donahue finished fourth overall with a time of 21:12.40. Shannon Barycki finished 22nd overall with a time of 23:42.50.
  • The Immaculata Men's team finished ninth out of ten teams in 2024, with 186 points. Samuel Domencic finished eighth overall with a time of 30:29.10. Chris Watson finished 41st overall with a time of 34:51.30.
 
MIGHTY MAC WOMEN'S NOTES
  • Aubrey Donahue finished second place overall in last week's Bryn Mawr Invitational, with an IU program 5K record time of 19:58.00 breaking her own program record of 20:15.60 at the Bryn Mawr Invitational in 2023.
  • Jayla Gross finished 16th overall with a personal best 5K time of 22:04.90 last week, which was 2:06 faster than her time in the Bryn Mawr Invitational in 2024.
  • Breanne Dymek finished 21st overall last week with a personal best 5K time of 22:37.00, which was exactly one minute faster than her time the Bryn Mawr Invitational in 2024.
  • Shannon Barycki finished 34th overall with a time of 23:50.60 last week.
  • Molly Wasylenko, Nora Roe, and Madeline McBride all competed well in their first collegiate events last weekend.
 
MIGHTY MAC MEN'S NOTES
  • Samuel Domencic earned his first collegiate race win last weekend, finishing first overall with a personal best 5K time of 16:35.90, which was 1:16 faster than his time in the Bryn Mawr Invitational in 2024.
  • Connor Kakowski finished 20th overall with a personal 5K best time of 17:49.70 last weekend, improving his time 1:48 from the Bryn Mawr Invitational in 2024.
  • Jimmy Lauer finished 36th overall with a personal 5K best time of 19:06.60 last Saturday, improving on his time 2:33 from the Bryn Mawr Invitational in 2024.
  • Brian Duffy improved his time 1:35 seconds from the Bryn Mawr Invitational in 2024, and Kendall Budlow improve his time 5:35 seconds from 2024.
  • Jason Canterino finished 55th overall with a time of 21:50.00 last weekend.
  • Nicholas Brown, Luca Petrone, Nick Heinlein, Alexander Wilson, and Yerlin Ortiz competed well in their first collegiate cross-country race.
 
WEEKLY HONORS
  • Aubrey Donahue was named the Atlantic East Conference Women's Cross-Country Runner of the Week on Tuesday afternoon after finishing second overall and setting a new IU program 5K record.
  • Samuel Domencic was named to the Atlantic East Conference Men's Cross-Country Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday afternoon after earning his first collegiate race win last Saturday.

  • The Immaculata Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams will next compete on Saturday, October 4, when they will compete at the Cairn University Highlander Invitational in Langhorne, Pa.
