Larry Diehlman Named Director of Athletic Communications

Paul Murphy, Immaculata University Director of Athletics and Recreation announced the hiring of Larry Diehlman as the new Director of Athletic Communications. Diehlman will join Sports Information Director Andrew Alvarez in co-leading communication efforts for all 22 varsity sports teams.

"We are excited to welcome Larry to the Immaculata University community," said Paul Murphy. "His experience at the Division III and Division I levels helped hone his skillset and we know he will do great things to promote our student-athletes and enhance the capabilities within our athletic department."

"I'd like to thank Paul Murphy, Andy Alvarez, and the entire search committee for giving me the opportunity to work at Immaculata," said Diehlman. "My previous athletic communications experiences have provided me the necessary tools to begin this next chapter of my career. I look forward to assisting Andy in covering Immaculata sports. I cannot wait to get started!"

Diehlman comes to Immaculata after spending the 2024-25 year at Delaware State University as Sports Communications Manager. He served as the media contact for women's soccer, women's tennis, equestrian, women's lacrosse, baseball, and was secondary contact for football.

Before arriving at Delaware State, Diehlman was an Athletic Communications and Operations Assistant at Widener University for two years. He served as primary contact for multiple sports at Widener, including men's and women's soccer, women's basketball, women's lacrosse, and baseball.

Diehlman is a freelance statistician for the Delaware Blue Coats basketball team and Rutgers-Camden women's volleyball team.

"I am excited to have the opportunity to work with Larry (Diehlman)," said Andy Alvarez, Immaculata Sports Information Director. "His work at both the Division I and the Division III levels will help us provide an exceptional experience for our Immaculata teams, student-athletes, and staff."

Diehlman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Communications and Media, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, from Rowan University in 2022. He was a reporter/columnist for the Rowan newspaper, The Whit, and was an on-air personality for Rowan Radio, 89.7 WGLS-FM.
