IMMACULATA, Pa.- Immaculata University Director of Athletics and Recreation Paul Murphy has announced the hiring of Beth Bernabeo as the new Assistant Athletic Director for NCAA Compliance and Student-Athlete Success.
"We are so excited for Beth to join our team," said Murphy. "Her experience in higher education along with her vast athletic background will blend perfectly with the Immaculata vision."
Bernabeo comes to Immaculata as an experienced educator, with decades of experience teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has most recently been serving as an adjunct faculty member in Public Health and Social Work at Gwynedd Mercy University. In addition to her work at Gwynedd Mercy, Bernabeo teaches Research Methods and Capstone to graduate students at St. Joseph's University in the Master of Healthcare Administration program. She has taught at LaSalle University and was an adjunct professor at Immaculata University for 10 years in the Sociology Department. Bernabeo also has an expertise in research methods, particularly in evaluation and assessment.
In addition to her educational background, Bernabeo has a tremendous passion for athletics, having been a multi-sport athlete in high school and played field hockey at the collegiate level. Bernabeo has coached youth travel soccer and basketball, and most recently she is the Head Coach of Boys and Girls Tennis at Radnor High School.
"I am thrilled to join the IU Mighty Macs Athletics Department, and I am incredibly grateful to Paul Murphy for the opportunity," said Bernabeo. "This is a dream come true for me- returning to the Immaculata campus to work with the student-athletes and facilitate their collegiate success, both athletically and academically. Immaculata has tremendous resources, and I know we all share in the vision to support and empower our athletes every step of the way."
Bernabeo earned her Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University. She earned her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Community Health Education from Temple University.
