THE STORYLINE 

• The Immaculata baseball team (10-24, 5-7 AEC) opens an important Atlantic East Conference series against Marymount with the first game at Marymount on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Capital One Park in Tysons, Va. The doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday at the IU Baseball Stadium at 12:00 p.m. 

• Immaculata enters the series after defeating Gwynedd Mercy 12-0 at home on Monday afternoon to salvage the third game of their three-game series. Immaculata enters the final weekend of the season two games ahead of Gwynedd Mercy for the final spot in the AEC Tournament. Gwynedd Mercy owns the tiebreaker on Immaculata, so the Mighty Macs must stay ahead of the Griffins in the standings to qualify for the tournament. 

• Marymount (20-17, 10-2 AEC) sits in first place in the AEC, and enters Thursday's game having dropped the second game of their doubleheader with Centenary on Saturday falling 11-8. 

SERIES HISTORY 

• Immaculata and Marymount are meeting for the 19th time in their series that began in 2019. 

• Immaculata is 8-10 all-time vs Marymount. 

LAST MEETING 

• Immaculata defeated Marymount in their last meeting 9-0 on May 10, 2024, in 2024 AEC Tournament in Winchester, Va.  

• Jason Hughes pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out eight to earn the win. Shawn Haut hit a three-run double, and Joey Sacco, Steven Theisen, and Joey Wright all had RBIs for Immaculata.

• Senior outfielder Andrew Schaeb is batting .377 with three home runs and 31 RBIs. 

• Graduate Infielder Bobby Leitzel is batting .376 with one home run and 30 RBIs. 

• Senior first baseman Jonathan McMath is batting .304 with seven home runs and 35 RBIs. 

• Senior pitcher David Muirhead is 3-3 with a 4.38 ERA in 10 starts. He has 40 strikeouts in 51.1 innings pitched. 

• Senior pitcher Parker Casselberry is 4-4 with a 5.96 ERA in nine starts. He has 42 strikeouts in 48.1 innings pitched.
