Alexa Peterson Named Immaculata Softball Head Coach

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University Director of Athletics and Recreation Paul Murphy announced Alexa Peterson as the Mighty Macs' new head softball coach, as well as being an assistant to the athletic director.

"We are incredibly excited to welcome Alexa to lead our softball program," Murphy said. "Despite being early in her career, her passion for the game, and her approach to player development and recruiting, truly set her apart. She is deeply in tune with today's student-athlete, and we are confident she has the vision and energy to build a championship-level program for years to come."

Peterson comes to Immaculata after serving as an assistant softball coach at Haverford College for the 2024-25 school year and as an assistant coach for 16u Pegasus Fast Pitch in 2023-24.

Peterson spent five seasons playing for the West Chester University Golden Rams, a Division II squad in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). She spent two years as a captain and on the leadership team. With Peterson on the roster, the Golden Rams made three PSAC Tournament appearances (winning two), won one regional championship title out of three appearances, and made an NCAA National Championship appearance.

Additionally, Peterson is a softball instructor and a strength and conditioning coach for MJB Sports Performance and a personal trainer and client success manager for Driven Strength and Fitness.

"I am very excited to start this new chapter in my softball career," Peterson said. "I'm eager to pass on the wisdom and education of the sport to the next generation of fearless female athletes. I look forward to being part of Immaculata's legacy in shaping the minds of strong, independent women."

Peterson holds multiple certifications, including USA Level 1 Olympic Weightlifting Coach.

Peterson, a native of Exton, Pa., earned a B.S. in exercise science from West Chester in 2024, with a minor in nutrition and a minor in sports coaching.
