WHAT TO KNOW
  • The Immaculata men's and women's cross-country teams return to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Tenth Annual Rowan Border Battle hosted by Rowan University.
  • The event draws many of the top regional Division III programs, and Division I, II, and Junior College programs. The event has Division III Men's and Women's Divisions and Men's and Women's Open Divisions.
  • The Division III Women's Championship 6000m Race is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am.
  • The Division III Men's Championship 8000m Race is scheduled to begin at 11:45 am.
EVENT HISTORY
  • The Immaculata men's and women's teams compete in the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle every season, and the Border Battle is one of their signature events for the Cross-Country program each season.
  • Aubrey Donahue was Immaculata's top finisher in 2024, finishing 56th overall with an IU program 6K record time of 23:19.0. Donahue has set the program record at the Broder Battle in 2023 and broke her own record in 2024.
  • Samuel Domencic was Immaculata's top finisher in 2024, finishing 192nd overall with a time of 28:20.7.
 
LAST OUTING AT THE HIGHLANDER INVITATIONAL
  • The Immaculata women's cross-country team finished 4th out of 12 teams at the Cairn Highlander Invitational. Aubrey Donahue d the way for the Mighty Macs with a dominant performance, capturing 1st place overall and setting a new course record with a time of 24:26.5.
  • The Immaculata men's cross-country team finished 11th out of 17 teams at the Carin Highlander Invitational. Connor Kakowski led the Mighty Macs with an impressive performance, placing 23rd overall with a time of 32:03.5.
 
MIGHTY MAC WOMEN'S NOTES
  • Aubrey Donahue enters Saturday's event after finishing first at the Highlander Invitational. Donahue set a course record at Cairn and will look to challenge her own program record she set last year at the Border Battle.
  • Jayla Gross continues her development as distance runner, as she finished 18th overall at the Highlander Invitational with a time of 28:00.4.
  • Breanne Dymek broke her own personal record at the Highlander Invitational, lowering her time by a minute with a time of 28:48.4 on a slow course.
  • Immaculata's core of freshmen Molly Wasylenko, Madeline McBride, Nora Roe, and Aubrey Bickford will be running in their first Border Battle, and race with a large field.
 
MIGHTY MAC MEN'S NOTES
  • Connor Kakowski will lead the Mighty Macs men's team on Saturday. Kakowski was Immaculata's top finisher at the Highlander Invitational finishing 23rd overall with a time of 32:03.5.
  • Jimmy Lauer finished 37th overall with a time of 33:20.4 at the Highlander Invitational.
  • Chris Watson finished 48th overall with a time of 34:26.7 at the Highlander Invitational.
  • Jason Canterino moved up to fourth amongst the Immaculata finishers at the Highlander Invitational with a 37:11.9.
  • Nick Heilein and Luca Patrone showed excellent improvement at the Highlander Invitational, lowering their times from Belmont by three minutes each.
  • Kendall Budlow continues to develop as a runner as his time at the Highlander Invitational was two minutes faster than his time at Belmont on a slow course.
  • Yerlin Ortiz will run his first Border Battle and race with a large field on Saturday.

  • The Immaculata men's and women's cross-country teams will be back in action on Saturday, November 1st when the compete in the Atlantic East Conference Championships in Milton, N.Y.
