GREENSBORO, N.C.- The American Baseball Coaches Association announced the 2023 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region Teams and Region Awards on Tuesday. Three Mighty Macs were named to Region Five teams as Jason Hughes earned first team, Josh Crowding earned second team, and Stephen DiBatista was named to the third team. Hughes was named Region Five Pitcher of the Year.

Hughes, the two-time Atlantic East Conference Pitcher of the Year, earned his second consecutive All-Region First team selection and the Region Pitcher of the Year honors after helping the Macs earn their second consecutive Atlantic East Conference Championship. Hughes finished the season with a 9-2 record and a 1.97 earned run average. He set program records for wins in one season with nine, strike outs in one season with 101, and strike outs in one game with 12, which he did on two occasions in 2023.

Crowding, the Atlantic East Conference Player of the Year earned second team honors in 2023, after earning third team in 2022. Crowding led the Atlantic East Conference in batting with an average of .415 to go along with five home runs, and 56 RBIs. Crowding set program records for hits in one season with 61, doubles in one season with 22, and RBIs in one season with 56.

Stephen DiBatista earned Third Team distinction going 5-2 on the season, with a 2.28 ERA, and 52 strikeouts. In the Atlantic East Conference Tournament, DiBatista threw six scoreless innings in relief, including earning a four-inning save in the Conference Championship Game vs. Cabrini.
