IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University men's soccer team will host Marymount University in an Atlantic East Conference Quarterfinal round math on Saturday, October 28 at 4 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
Immaculata (4-6-6) finished the regular season in fourth place in the final regular season standings and earned the fourth seed in the postseason tournament. The other AEC Quarterfinal taking place Saturday features third seed Marywood University hosting sixth-seeded Gwynedd Mercy University.
How They Got Here:
Immaculata earned the fourth seed in the AEC tournament after finishing in a three-way tie with Marywood and Marymount with each school posting a 2-2-2 record in conference play. Marywood went 1-0-1, Immaculata went 1-1-0, and Marymount went 0-1-1 in games between the tied teams. This gave Marywood the third seed, and Immaculata received the fourth seed after beating Marymount 2-1 October 4
th.
Scouting Marymount:
Marymount finished the season 2-2-2 in Atlantic East Conference play earning victories over Gwynedd Mercy and Centenary and draws with Marywood and Neumann. The Saints were led offensively by Leonardo Torres who led the conference in scoring with 18 goals, three assists, and 36 points including five game winning goals. Â On the defensive side, goalkeeper Bayron Banegas was 7-6-3 on the season with 1.29 goals against average and three shutouts, and one combined shutout.
Mighty Mac Notes:
Immaculata finished the season 2-2-2 in Atlantic East Conference play earning wins over Centenary and Marymount and draws with Neumann and Cabrini.
Immaculata was led offensively by graduate student
Josh Fonder with 10 goals, one assist and 21 points.
Michael Prall and
Cooper McKinney each scored three goals, and Michale Balestriere led the Mighty Macs with four assists.
On the defensive side the Mighty Macs were led by junior goalkeeper
Ryan Straub who had 1.62 goals against average and had two shutouts and one combined shutout. Graduate student

Daniel O'Rourke played important roles on the defensive side for the Macs.
History Between The Two:
Immaculata leads the overall series against the Marymount with a 4-2-1 record. Immaculata defeated Marymount on October 4
th here at Draper Walsh Stadium 2-1, scoring a pair of second half goals to rally for the win.
The last time the teams met in the playoffs came in the Atlantic East Semifinals on November 5, 2019, when the Mighty Macs defeated the Saints 5-4 on penalty kicks after the teams played a 1-1 draw to advance to the Championship game.
The winner of Saturday's match will advance to the Atlantic East Conference Semifinals on Tuesday, October 31
st. Depending on the results of the other Quarterfinal, the winner will play at either #1 seed Neumann or #2 seed Cabrini.
