SCRANTON, Pa. - The Immaculata men's soccer team closed out the 2025 season on a high note Wednesday evening, earning a 1-0 victory over Marywood.
Alex Corsones scored the game's lone goal in the 14th minute to lift the Mighty Macs to the win.
Despite being eliminated from postseason contention earlier in the day following Gwynedd Mercy's win over Centenary, Immaculata finished the year with a win.
Immaculata finished 3-12-2 overall record and a 2-3-2 mark in Atlantic East Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MARYWOOD
- Marywood generated the game's first scoring chance in the fifth minute, but goalkeeper Luca Greppellini made an early save to keep the game level.
- In the 14th minute, Corsones netted his first collegiate goal, finishing off a setup from Daniel O'Rourke to give Immaculata a 1-0 lead.
- The Pacers outshot the Macs 12-4 in the opening half, but Immaculata carried its one-goal advantage into the break.
- Greppellini stood tall in the second half, recording six of his nine saves to preserve the shutout and the victory.
