ATLANTIC EAST CONFERENCE WOMEN'S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
RADNOR, Pa.- For the first time since 2010, the Mighty Mac women's soccer team is heading to the conference semifinals as they attempt to win the first ever Atlantic East Conference Championship. They will travel to top-seeded Cabrini on Wednesday afternoon with a berth in the Atlantic East Conference Championship match on the line. These two teams met exactly one week ago and played a good game in a 1-1 draw at Draper Walsh Stadium. Cabrini got on the board in the 35
th minute, but the Macs netted the equalizer in the 67
th minute as senior
Carrie Quigley hit a perfect shot just under the crossbar from the top of the box after a pass from junior
Eleana Kriebel. Neither team was able to score the winner in the regular season finale for each side.

-The Mighty Macs entered the Atlantic East Conference Championships as the sixth seed after a 1-3-2 record in the conference and their overall record now stands at 5-10-2. Cabrini tied for the top spot in the Atlantic East with a 4-1-1 record, but earned the top seed by virtue of a tiebreaker over Wesley. The Cavaliers were 10-4-1 overall this season
-The Macs enter today's game after a thrilling double-overtime victory over No. 3 Neumann on Monday night. Sophomore
Riley Rudd evened the game at 1-1 in the first half and
Carrie Quigley did the same in the second half to send the game to overtime knotted at 2-2. Rudd then ended it in double overtime with a curving shot to the far corner of the net from about 30 yards out giving the Mighty Macs their first postseason victory since 2010 when they went to the conference championship
-The Cavaliers defeated Wesley (1-0), Neumann (3-1), Marymount (3-1), and Gwynedd Mercy (1-0) in Atlantic East play this season and lost to Marywood (2-1) to get to their record of 4-1-1.
-These two teams have met twice previously in the conference postseason. Last season, the Cavaliers eliminated the Mighty Macs, 4-3, in the conference quarterfinals. In the 2010 conference semifinals, the teams played to a scoreless draw, but the Macs won 8-7 on penalty kicks
-The Macs are now averaging 1.47 goals per game, fifth best in the Atlantic East, and allowing 1.88, also fifth best. The Cavaliers are third in goals scored with 2.27 per game and are allowing the second fewest at 1.27.
-Rudd has now run her team-best goal tally to nine after her two-goal performance in the Atlantic East quarterfinals and is tied for fourth in the league.
Carrie Quigley is now alone in second on the team with four goals after her game-tying goal on Monday
-The Cavaliers have four different players with at least four goals, led by Alex Garces with five. Katelyn Gilinger, Brittany Purdy, and Diana VanSickle all have four goals
-Ashley Tutzauer has done a majority of the goalkeeping for the Cavs with a 1.31 goals against average and .708 save percentage. Freshman
Brooke Shissler was outstanding against Neumann and is just behind Tutzauer with a 1.42 goals against average this season and is second in the Atlantic East with a save percentage of .830
-The winner will play in the Atlantic East Championship against the winner of No. 4 Marywood and No. 2 Wesley on Saturday at the field of the higher remaining seed
