IMMACULATA NEWS & NOTES
-The Mighty Macs have allowed two goals or fewer in four of their five Atlantic East contests this season, with two of those games ending in one-goal losses.
-In the Macs' five regular season conference games, goalies
Randie Kuhar and
Jackie Victor have combined to post a 2.40 GAA.
-The Macs have scored 25 games thus far in the 2018 season, led by six each from
Willa Thompson and
Layne Kennedy. Thompson and Kennedy's six tallies rank sixth in the Atlantic East entering the postseason, while
Hilary Burkholder comes in at ninth with five.
-Thompson also comes in at a tie for fifth in points with her team-leading total of 15.
-Rookie standouts
Macy Green and
Makenze Sassaman have been solid contributors to the Mighty Macs in their first seasons and look to continue that trend into the postseason. Green leads IU with four assists this fall - a mark that stands fifth among conference leaders - while Sassasman's team-high seven defensive saves is the second-most in the Atlantic East this season.
-A win Monday night would mark the program's first conference tournament victory since October 30, 2010, when the Macs defeated Neumann on the road, 2-0, to advance to the semifinals where they would fall to Cabrini.
