IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's soccer team (2-2-2) moved to 2-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Wednesday night at Draper Walsh Stadium with a convincing 5-0 victory over Notre Dame (1-4, 0-1 CSAC). The Macs have not allowed a goal by the opposition in the last three games.
Freshman
Riley Rudd scored twice and had an assist, while freshman
Miranda Rojas and junior
Carrie Quigley each had a goal and an assist, and freshman
Melina Bruzzone scored the first goal of her career.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Mighty Macs dominated the first half, outshooting the Gators 24-1, but were unable to break through until the 37
th minute when Rudd scored her third of the season as she took a shot that was saved, collected her rebound and put it in the back of the net for a 1-0 halftime lead
-The Macs cashed in on many opportunities in the second half as they scored four goals in a 23 minute span
-That started as Rojas got the first of her career on a breakaway after a great pass from Rudd that freed her up around midfield, and Rojas did the rest for a 2-0 lead in the 61
st minute
-Less than three minutes later, sophomore
Carly Quigley fed a pass just behind the defense into the box that Rudd collected and fired into the far post for a 3-0 lead and the first multi-goal game of her career
-In the 76
th minute, Bruzzone scored the first goal of her career as
Carrie Quigley collected a loose ball in the box, passed it back to Bruzzone who fired it into the back of the net to grow the lead to 4-0

Carrie Quigley then finished off the scoring as she got a rebound off the post from a Rojas shot and scored to get to the final of 5-0

Zena Tracey said: "We were extremely aggressive in our attacking third and it paid off, especially in the second half. Some of our players took advantage of a great opportunity tonight and it showed with another conference win. It's great to start CSAC play with back-to-back wins."
