Mighty Macs Break Out In Shutout Victory Over Delaware Valley

Box Score

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's soccer team broke out in a big way on Saturday afternoon as they poured in a season-high five goals to top Delaware Valley (2-3) by a score of 5-0 for their first victory of the season.

Sophomore Nick Boule scored twice for the Mighty Macs (1-4-1) while junior Alex Noel, sophomore Connor Lindsay, and freshman Alex Potter all found the back of the net once.  Noel became the school's all-time leader in points in a career with 56 on his second half goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The scoring started early for the Macs as Boule netted his second of the season when he chipped a shot over the keeper's head from the top of the box off the first career assist from freshman Chad Catalana just 1:53 into the game
-The score would hold at 1-0 until Potter showed an outstanding individual effort in running a ball down in the corner in the 28th minute, making his way to the top of the 18 and ripping a shot to the top left corner of the cage for a 2-0 advantage
-Boule showed some more goal scoring creativity in the 33rd minute when he took a deflected ball from junior Colin Gallagher and volleyed it into the top of the cage to grow the lead to 3-0
-Lindsay then scored the first goal of his career with just 10 seconds to go before halftime when Gallagher was taken down in the box, and Lindsay took the penalty kick and buried it for a 4-0 lead at the break
-In the second half, Potter was taken down in the box and Noel stepped in and made his 10th career penalty kick in as many attempts to move into first all-time on the career points list
-Freshman Mikey Kalpokas and sophomore John King combined for the second consecutive clean sheet for the Mighty Macs
