IMMACULATA, Pa.- For the fourth time in the past five years the No. 4 Immaculata women's lacrosse team (10-7, 6-3 CSAC) will be traveling to the top seeded Cabrini Cavaliers (14-3, 9-0 CSAC) for a CSAC semifinal showdown on Wednesday May 3
rd getting underway at 5 p.m.

The Macs have visited the Cavaliers in the semifinals in 2013, 2014, and 2016 dropping all three meetings 21-8, 18-5, and 21-5, respectively.

The Macs enter the semifinals coming off a big 17-5 win over the No. 5 seed Notre Dame of Maryland Gators. The Macs got great offensive production from the entire offense as 10 different Mighty Macs found the back of the net. First Team All-CSAC selection
Hannah Verrecchia had a big day scoring four goals as did her junior counterpart
Nicole Dominick who added four goals of her own along with three assists to eclipse the 100-point mark. Junior
Olivia Carter also had a strong day scoring two goals of her own. Rookie of the Year
Layne Kennedy had a solid day scoring one goal and adding two assists along the way.Â

Molly Gallagher each added goals of their along the way as well. Honorable Mention All-CSAC selection junior
Brittany Whaley also added a goal of her own to help lead the Macs to victory. Second Team All-CSAC selection
Emily Schumann worked hard in net making five saves, and recording two groundballs to help silence the Gators offensive attack.Â

The game was close after the first 12 minutes of play as the score was 5-3 in favor of the Macs. The Macs offense would then explode on an 11-0 run stretching through the remainder of the first half into the second half pushing the lead to 16-3. The Gators would answer back and score another two goals while the Macs added one more late in the game to lead the Macs to the 17-5 victory.

The Macs and Cavaliers met once already this season back on April 5
th when the Macs traveled to Cabrini and fell by a score of 18-6. Kennedy had a strong day against the Cavs scoring three in this contest to try and keep the Macs in the game. The Macs opened up the scoring just under one minute in when Kennedy found the back of the net but the Cavaliers offense would then explode on a 7-0 run to pull away from the Macs in this contest. Schumann once again worked hard in net making 19 saves on the day but it was not enough to stifle the potent Cavaliers attack.

The Macs will be looking to Rookie of the Year
Layne Kennedy (team best 71 points-52 goals, 19 assists) and Verrecchia (41 goals, 19 assists) to try and keep pace with the potent Cavaliers offense. Whaley (40 goals, eight assists) and Dominick (17 goals, 28 assists) have also had strong seasons and will look to continue contributing in the semifinals.

Defensively, First Team ALL-CSAC selection sophomore
Bailey Krewson has had a strong year scooping up a team best 59 ground balls, while causing 27 turnovers, and winning 32 draws. Whaley has also add a strong year on defense causing a team high 32 turnovers to go along with a team best 69 draw controls. Verrecchia has also been a key contributor on the defensive side of the ball scooping up 46 ground balls, causing 19 turnovers, and winning 63 draw controls.

Schumann has had big season freshman season in the cage playing to a 10-7 record making 147 saves with a .470 save percentage, and 9.69 goals against average.

Cabrini is potent on offense once again this year leading the CSAC in goals per game with 14.88 while surrendering just 8.64 goals per game which is good enough for 2
nd in the conference. The Macs are currently sitting in third in both of these categories scoring 12.94 goals per game while surrendering just 9.76 goals per game.

The Cavaliers are led by sophomore Player of the Year Avery Murphy as she has posted team and conference highs in goals (59) and points (77) while she is tied for the team lead in assists with 18. The Cavaliers also have two other First Team Selections in the midfield in Jackie Neary (18 goals, 13 assists, 31 points, 35 groundballs) and Jess Breuning (21 goals, 12 assists, 33 points, 51 groundballs) who are threats all around the field.

On defense the Cavaliers have one more First Team All-CSAC selection in junior Gabby Lee who has 24 groundballs to go along with 18 caused turnovers. In net the Cavaliers have Honorable Mention All-CSAC selection in senior Megan Barlow who has played to 14-3 record overall (9-0 in conference)Â making just 85 saves while posting a .411 save percentage, and a 9.49 goals against average.

The winner of this semifinal will take on the winner of the
2 Marywood vs 3 Neumann semifinal on Saturday at the field of the highest remaining seed for the CSAC title and the automatic NCAA tournament bid.
