IMMACULATA, Pa. – After extending its overall winning streak to 11 games and pushing its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) to 7-0 with a 7-4 win in game one of a doubleheader with Marywood University on Saturday afternoon, Immaculata University baseball had its string snapped with a 13-4 loss in the nightcap.

The Pacers (7-11, 4-4 CSAC) plated all four of their runs in the opener during the first two innings. Marywood got two runners on base on walks, and they advanced to second and third on a wild pitch and stolen base. The first run scored on a fielder's choice as the Mighty Macs were unsuccessful at cutting the runner down at third. Marywood then loaded the bases on another walk, which set up two runs scoring on Austin Takvor's single through the left side for a 3-0 lead after the top of the first.

Marywood had back-to-back singles from Trevor Powers and James Goetz to start the second inning, and Alan Nieto hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score Powers for the Pacers' fourth run.

Immaculata's bats came alive in the bottom of the third as it scored four runs on four hits along with one walk and one hit by pitch. The first three batters of the inning all reach as
Pat Devenney singled through the right side to begin the inning.
Jason McCormick then reached base on a hit by pitch, and
Howie Kalamets singled to right field that Devenney allowed Devenney to score from second. Following McCormick advancing to third on a fly ball and Kalamets stealing second,
Justin Dempsey singled through the left side and advanced to second on the throw home as both runners scored.
Matt Simon then doubled to score the Mighty Macs' fourth run and tie the game, 4-4.

After Marywood's first two hitters of the fourth inning reached on an error and walk, Immaculata pitcher
Trevor O'Brien was able to get out of the inning without any runs scoring. Â

In Immaculata's half of the fourth, McCormick reached on a fielding error by the right fielder, and he scored as Kalamets tripled into right center.
Ryan Ficca then delivered a RBI single through the right side that plated Kalamets for a 6-4 lead. Simon again drove home a runner with his single to left field for the 7-4 margin.

Marywood had its chances into the fifth and sixth but came up empty. The Pacers tried to even the game in the top of the seventh as they loaded the bases with no outs. However,
Kyle Bacher was able to get a strikeout, pop up and fly ball to leave all the runners stranded and preserve the 7-4 win.

Kalamets was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Simon was 2-for-2 with two walks and two RBIs.

O'Brien started and picked up the win going five innings. He struck out 10 Pacers, walked five and allowed four hits.
Brandon Shapiro threw one inning, striking out and giving up one hit. Bacher picked up the save as he gave up one hit, struck out one and walked one in one inning on the mound.

The nightcap was close until Marywood combined for 11 runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to open up a 13-3 lead on Immaculata.

The Pacers scored first in the second inning with two runs. Marywood's first run scored on Takvor's double down the left field line, and Takvor later scored on Powers' single into right field.

The Mighty Macs answered for one run in the bottom of the second as Devenney had a sac fly that scored
Ryan Tecco, who led off the inning with a walk.

After a scoreless third inning, Marywood plated three runs in the top of the fourth and five runs in the fifth inning for the 10-1 lead.

Immaculata came back in the bottom of the fifth loading the bases for R. Ficca, who had a RBI ground out to make it 10-2. Following a walk to Dempsey to load the bases again, Simon also stayed patient to draw a walk and scored the third IU run.

Marywood extended its lead to 10 runs (13-3) with three more runs in the sixth, but Immaculata was able to get one back in its final at-bat. Simon walked and Tecco was hit by a pitch for two on with two outs.
Stephen Trendler than singled through the left side to score Simon.

Brad Misialek was 2-for-3 in the second game for the Mighty Macs.

Ryan Blough started the game for the Mighty Macs and pitched four innings. He allowed 10 hits, seven runs, five earned, while striking out four and walking two batters.
Ryan Joyce and
Adam Wheatley each pitched one scoreless inning giving up two hits for the Mighty Macs, who used five pitchers in the game.

The Mighty Macs wrap up the series with the Pacers tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. traveling to Marywood.
