IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team travelled to Cabrini (9-2, 5-0 CSAC) on Wednesday night looking to preserve their undefeated Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) record, but the Macs (6-4, 3-1 CSAC) were unable to keep up in an 18-6 loss to the Cavaliers.

Layne Kennedy continued her great rookie season with three goals to reach 30 on the year, and junior
Hannah Verrecchia had three assists. Sophomore
Bailey Krewson (five groundballs), junior
Nicole Dominick, and junior
Rosemarie Reitman each scored one goal.

Emily Schumann made a career high 19 saves in a great effort.

Kennedy scored on a pass from Verrecchia just 50 seconds into the game to put IU on top early, but the Cavaliers scored seven straight goals to take a 7-1 lead midway through the half.

Dominick scored on an assist from Verrecchia to stop the run, but a pair of goals by Cabrini increased the deficit to 9-2. Kennedy's second of the half made it 9-3, but Cabrini took a 12-3 lead into the break with three goals in a 48 second span.

Cabrini left no doubt as they scored six goals to start the second half and take an insurmountable lead.

Krewson, Kennedy, and Reitman scored goals in the final 11 minutes to get to the final of 18-6.

The Mighty Macs hope to bounce back on Saturday when they host Marywood at 1 p.m. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
