IMMACULATA, Pa.-Â For the fifth consecutive season the Immaculata women's lacrosse team is gearing up to host a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Quarterfinal matchup on Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium. The Macs enter the postseason as a four seed once again which means they will be facing off against the number five seed Notre Dame of Maryland Gators beginning at 1 p.m. this Saturday.

The Macs ended their regular season on Thursday the 27
th with a 9-7 record overall and a 6-3 mark in CSAC play. The Macs have won their CSAC quarterfinal game each of the past four years before falling in the CSAC Semifinals. Over these past four years the Macs and Gators have squared off twice, once in 2013 when the Macs were the four seed they defeated the Gators 16-4, and again in 2015 when the Macs were the three seed they defeated the Gators 18-6. A year ago the Macs faced off against the Centenary Cyclones and came away with a victory by a score of 19-9.

The Macs and Gators have met once already this season back on April 11
th when the Macs defeated the Gators in a high scoring game by a score of 21-13. The Macs had ten different goal scorers with freshman
Layne Kennedy leading the way with a career high six goals. Junior
Brittany Whaley added three goals of her own, while juniors
Olivia Carter,
Hannah Verrecchia,
Rosemarie Reitman, and sophomore
Bailey Krewson all chipped in two goals apiece. Junior
Nicole Dominick had one goal and three assists while senior
Meredith Katona, and sophomore
Amanda Maher each added a goal of their own. Â Freshman goalie
Emily Schumann led the way on defense for the Macs making 10 saves on the day while Verrecchia and Krewson scooped up four ground balls each to help control the game.

The Macs have been led offensively by the freshman standout Kennedy who has 51 goals and 17 assists for 68 points. Kennedy's 51 goals is good enough to set a new freshman single season goal record as Kennedy passes Kelly Lapp who previously held the record of 50. Verrecchia has a had a big year in her own right as she has scored 37 goals also adding 19 assists while she has scooped up a team high 42 groundballs and won 61 draw controls for the Macs.

On the defensive side of the field freshman goalie
Emily Schumann has played extremely well with a 9-7 record, making 141 saves (.467 save percentage) while playing to a 9.98 goals against average. Schumann currently sits third in the conference in goals against average, and second in the conference in save percentage.

Notre Dame is led by Megan Morales who has 52 goals, 11 assists, and 63 points on the season which is good enough to put Morales first in the conference in goals and points per game. Last time the Macs squared off with the Gators, Morales led the way offensively scoring five goals on the day to keep the Gators in the game.

On the defensive side the Gators are led by Deja Martin who has played to a 5-7 record with a .381 save percentage and a 14.92 goals against average.
