IMMACULATA, Pa. - Â On a clear and cold Saturday afternoon, the Immaculata University men's lacrosse team (3-5, 2-0 CSAC) won its third-consecutive game as it defeated the Rosemont College Ravens (3-7, 0-2 CSAC), 11-6, in an early-season Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) battle.

The Ravens opened the scoring with 13 minutes left in the first quarter when Purnell Summers scored to stake the Ravens to an early one-goal advantage. The Mighty Macs scored just over four minutes later when
Tyler Black scored to tie the score at 1-1. Immaculata scored again six minutes later when
Jake Kemble scored after scooping up one of his seven ground balls of the afternoon to give the Mighty Macs a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Mighty Macs continued their scoring early in the second quarter as
Doug Hughes quickly added a goal of his own to give Immaculata a 3-1 lead with 14 minutes to play. Rosemont answered back just a minute later when Zach Bowe scored to bring the Ravens back within one (3-2).

However, this was as close as the game would be from this point forward as the Mighty Macs went on a 4-0 run as
Mike Reardon scored two goals and Black added two more goals to make the score 7-2 with 6:53 to go before halftime. Rosemont scored once more with 2:19 left in the half when Bowe took an assist from Brandon Krause to make it a 7-3 contest. Reardon broke through one more time before half making the score 8-3 heading into the locker room. Â

The two squads were even in the second half as each scored once in the third quarter and tallied two goals in the fourth period. All three of the Mighty Macs' second half goals came from
Doug Hughes. Bowe contributed two goals for the Ravens, and Tyler Ferrara tacked on a goal with 1:26 left in the game to make the score 11-6. Â

Hughes ended his day with four goals and one assist, while Reardon and Black each scored three goals to help the Immaculata cause. The three goals for Reardon allowed him to tie Bhelly Bagbonon for third all-time in goals, and Black's three goals tied him with Ben Tuscai for sixth.

Denton States had a strong game in net recording 14 saves, while Rosemont goalkeeper Cassius Christie made 15 saves in the loss.

Kemble led the Macs in ground balls with seven, giving him 130 ground balls for his career and tying him for fourth place with Max Basset. Kemble also led the Macs in caused turnovers with three, while Hughes led the way from the face-off circle winning nine of his 13 attempts.

Immaculata's next game is Wednesday, April 5, at home against Moravian getting underway at 4 p.m.
