IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata's men's lacrosse team won its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opener Saturday afternoon defeating Keystone, 16-2, at Draper Walsh Stadium.

The Mighty Macs (1-5, 1-0 CSAC) led the Giants (0-6, 0-1 CSAC), 5-1, at halftime and exploded for 11 goals during the second half.

Brian Shultis had four goals and four assists for eight points. Shultis also collected seven ground balls.
Mike Reardon and
Tyler Black each had four goals, one assist and four ground balls. Black also went 9-for-12 on face-offs for the Mighty Macs.
Doug Hughes finished the game with three goals, a team-high 10 ground balls and 4-for-7 on face-offs.
Jake Kemble added one goal, one assist and two caused turnovers.

Immaculata started the game on a four-goal run as Shultis had two unassisted goals to begin the run, Reardon added a goal on a Black assist, and then Black scored unassisted with 6:23 to go in the first quarter. Keystone answered for one goal with 2:48 left in the quarter, as Immaculata held a 4-1 lead after the opening quarter.

Reardon scored the only goal of the second quarter on a feed from Shultis at the 11-minute mark, and the Mighty Macs led, 5-1, at halftime.

Immaculata outscored Keystone, 6-0, during the third quarter as Shultis had two goals and two assists in the run, and Hughes scored twice.

Keystone scored at the start of the fourth quarter cutting Immaculata's lead to 11-2. However, Immaculata scored less than one minute later by Black. Black had back-to-back goals to begin a five-goal spurt to end the game for the Mighty Macs.

Jeffrey Powell-Young scooped up six ground balls and caused four turnovers by the Giants.
John Werkheiser also caused two turnovers.

Denton States made eight saves and allowed just two goals in the win in net.
