IMMACULATA, Pa. - On a clear and cold night at Draper Walsh Stadium, Immaculata University's women's lacrosse team (3-2) hosted non-conference opponent Rutgers-Camden (2-2) in a tune-up ahead of Saturday's Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opener opposite Centenary. The Mighty Macs would go on to win by a final score of 11-3 against the Scarlet Raptors.

In the first half, the Mighty Macs opened the scoring with a free position goal from
Layne Kennedy with 25 minutes left to stake Immaculata to an early one-goal advantage. This lead would grow as the Mighty Macs jumped out to a 5-0 lead thanks to another two goals from Kennedy, and goals from
Amanda Maher and
Bailey Krewson. The Scarlet Raptors would answer back with 4:17 left in the half when Jessica Mayer took a pass from Jennie Klanchar to move the score to 5-1. The Macs would score once more before halftime with 3:41 left when
Brittany Whaley took a pass from
Nicole Dominick to make the score 6-1 heading to the break.

In the second half, it was more of the same as the Macs continued to outscore the Scarlet Raptors, 5-2. Kennedy ended the day with four goals and one assist.
Meredith Katona had two goals, while Dominick had one goal and two assists and Whaley finished with one goal and one assist.
Olivia Carter, Krewson and Maher all scored one goal to lead the Macs to victory.

Freshman goalie
Emily Schumann worked hard between the pipes making 11 saves while her counterpart ended the night with 10 saves of her own in the loss. Whaley scooped seven ground balls, caused six turnovers and won three draw controls to go with her one goal and one assist.
Molly Gallagher finished the night five groundballs and three caused turnovers, while Dominick collected four ground balls.
Hannah Verrecchia led the Mighty Macs with eight draw controls.Â

Immaculata's next game is Saturday, March 25, when its welcomes Centenary for a 1 p.m. start at Draper Walsh Stadium. The Mighty Macs only have two non-conference games left on the schedule as they travel to Kings on March 27, and then head to Arcadia to wrap up their regular season on April 27. Â
