BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's lacrosse team battled all night against Bryn Athyn, but the Mighty Macs fell short against the Lions on Wednesday night in non-conference action, 14-10.

Mike Reardon had four goals and one assist while picking up three ground balls for the Mighty Macs.
Brian Shultis and
Tyler Black each scored three goals and one assist. Shultis added four ground balls, while Black was 10-for-17 on face-offs with five ground balls.
Ethan Johnson had two assists, a team-high eight ground balls and four face-off wins.

Trailing 10-5 with 7:27 to play in the third quarter, Immaculata (0-5) was able to even the game at 10-all by the end of the quarter. Reardon started the string with 5:04 to go as he scored on a pass from Black. Then with less than two minutes to play in the quarter, the Mighty Macs were able to strike for four more goals. Black scored on a feed from Reardon with 1:42 left, and then Reardon scored on an assist from Shultis at the 1:01 mark. Just six seconds later, Shultis scored on Johnson's pass, and Black tied the contest at 10-10 with seven seconds left on an unassisted goal.

However, the Lions (2-3) closed the game with four goals in the final quarter for the 14-10 victory.

Bryn Athyn has started the contest with the first two goals for the early lead. However, Shultis and Reardon each scored unassisted man-up goals just 15 seconds apart to tie the game at 2-2 with 4:30 to go in the opening quarter. The Lions scored twice during the final minute for a 4-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Mighty Macs got one goal back with 8:42 remaining in the second quarter as Shultis scored again, but the Lions extended their lead back to two tallies (5-3) with 6:28 left before halftime. Immaculata scored quickly as Reardon finished the pass from Johnson at the 6:19 mark, and Black then tied the game at 5-5 on a man-up opportunity with 1:07 left in the quarter. Bryn Athyn was able to score with 14 seconds left on the second-quarter clock for a one-goal lead at halftime, 6-5.

Immaculata opens Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play this Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium. The Mighty Macs host the Keystone Giants at 3:30 p.m.
