IMMACULATA, Pa. - On a chilly February evening, the Immaculata University men's lacrosse team (0-1) hosted McDaniel College (1-1) at Draper Walsh Stadium in the season opener for the Mighty Macs, but it was the Green Terror who went on to win by a final score of 18-4.

In the first quarter, the Green Terror opened the scoring just three minutes into the game when Cooper Archambault took an assist from Marshall to give McDaniel a 1-0 lead. The Mighty Macs answered back just two minutes later in the 10th minute when
Tyler Black scored off a dodge from behind the net to tie the game at 1-1.

The Green Terror scored again with 1:42 left in the first quarter when Troy Becker scored to give the Terror a 2-1 lead, and McDaniel scored again with 49 seconds left in the frame to push the lead to 3-1.

McDaniel scored two goals during the first four minutes of the second quarter as Sam Mutz took a pass from Troy Becker to push the lead to 4-1, and Carson Marshall scored off an assist from Chase Hartman for the 5-1 edge.

Immaculata answered with 7:02 left in the second quarter as
Mike Reardon scored to make the game to 5-2. During the final 5:07 before halftime, Quinn Lykens scored two goals, and Archambault scored one more tally to make the lead 8-2 heading to the halftime locker room.

The third quarter opened with McDaniel scoring four goals during a five-minute stretch extending the Green Terror lead to 12-2. Marshall had one goal and assisted on two others during the spurt for McDaniel.

The Mighty Macs stopped the run with 5:17 left in the third quarter when
McKenna Touey found the top corner to cut the score to 12-3. However, McDaniel scored two more times before the end of the third quarter, and led, 14-3, heading to the final quarter.

The Green Terror wasted no time at the start of the fourth quarter, as Lykes scored just 24 seconds into the frame netting his fourth goal of the day. McDaniel scored three more times before the game ended. Immaculata tallied one more goal when
Doug Hughes converted a pass from
Samuel Zingaro with 4:10 to play, but it would not be enough as the Mighty Macs fell, 18-4.

Freshman goalie
Denton States tried to keep the Mighty Macs in the game making 20 saves, and his counterpart Bryan Ruygrok would make seven saves to get the victory.

Hughes led Immaculata with four ground balls, and
Donald Schiffer,
Jake Kemble and
Brian Shultis all collected three ground balls.
Kyle Poteete caused two McDaniel turnovers.

The Green Terror outshot the Mighty Macs, 60-15. McDaniel also held the lead in possession as it won 23 of the 26 face-offs.

Immaculata's next game is Saturday, February 25, when it goes on the road to Wesley for a 2 p.m. start. The Mighty Macs return home next Wednesday afternoon, March 1, for a 4 p.m. start against Moravian.
