CHESTERTOWN, Md.- The Immaculata women's basketball team (2-7) went on the road to Washington College (4-4) on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference contest, but the Macs struggled out of the gates and never caught up in an 82-48 defeat.

Theresa Kearney was a bright spot offensively as she scored a career-high 20 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Shorewomen set the tone from the start, scoring the first eight points of the game before Kearney scored the first points for IU in the game with a three at the 5:47 mark of the first quarter
-Washington got the lead up to 13-3 before freshman
Emily Halloran converted a layup for the second field goal of the quarter with 2:39 to go
-Halloran scored on a jumper and freshman
Shannon Kelly hit a three to close out the quarter and the Shorewomen held a 17-10 lead at the end of the first
-Washington grew their lead to 14 points at 27-13 midway through the second quarter as the Macs scored just three points in the opening minutes on a free throw by Kelly and a jumper by Kearney
-Junior
Amber Ballinger stopped the run with a three, but the Shorewomen ran the lead up to 17 points at 40-23 heading into halftime
-Washington College put the game away opening the quarter as they went on a 24-3 run in the first 9:08 of the second half to take a commanding 64-26 lead
-The Macs scored six of the final seven points to head to the fourth quarter with the Macs trailing 65-32
-Immaculata never cut into the Washington lead in the fourth quarter, as they fell in the game, 82-48
