CHESTERTOWN, Md.- The Immaculata men's basketball team (4-4) was looking to build off their non-conference win over Eastern last weekend when they travelled to Widener (4-5) for another non-conference tilt, but they shot just 31.5% from the field and were outrebounded 52-38 in a 76-66 defeat.

Mike Piekarski had a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards along with four assists and three steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The game was tied three times in the early going and the Macs took their biggest lead on a three-pointer by
Jordan Ambrose a little more than five minutes in to go up 9-6
-Widener then went on an 11-0 run over the next three minutes to take a 17-9 advantage
-Piekarski made back-to-back buckets to trim the deficit to four, and following a Pride field goal, Ambrose drilled another three to get within three at 19-16 at the midway point
-IU continued to surge when freshman
Chris Lomax hit a layup to get within one at 22-21, but Widener went on a huge 23-7 run to take a 45-28 lead at the half
-The lead got as large as 20 early in the period, but the Macs battled and slowly chipped away and trailed 58-45 with 10 minutes to go after another Ambrose three
-With 3:32 to go in the game, the Macs got the deficit under ten after a lay-up by senior
Will Chapman at 72-63, but they were unable to cut significantly into the lead in a 10-point defeat
