HAVERFORD, Pa. – Immaculata University women's basketball concluded the non-conference portion of its 2016-17 schedule on Monday evening on the road with a 58-44 loss to Haverford.

Theresa Walsh each posted 13 points to lead the Mighty Macs (3-12) in the scoring column. Laws grabbed 22 rebounds to finish off with a double-double.
Annie Kohutka also reached double figures in scoring with 11 points and handed out three assists.
Amber Ballinger added five points and five rebounds.

Following Haverford (10-4) scoring the opening bucket of the game, Immaculata went on an 8-2 run fueled by four points each from Walsh and Laws to lead by its largest margin of the first quarter, 8-4, with 3:46 to play in the quarter. However, the Mighty Macs trailed the Fords by four (12-8) at the end of the first quarter as they had an 8-0 spurt to end the stanza.

The Mighty Macs came on strong in the second quarter outscoring the Fords, 17-12, during the period. Haverford still held a four-point edge (16-12) with 6:01 left in the quarter when Immaculata was able to tie the score at 18-all just two minutes later. Laws and Walsh each scored three points to account for the Mighty Macs 6-2 run. Haverford claimed the lead back and again took a four-point edge (22-18), but Immaculata ended the second quarter with a pair of free throws and a three-pointer from Ballinger, along with a layup from Kohutka in the final second to take a one-point edge into the locker room, 25-24.

There were four lead changes during the first three minutes of the third quarter as Kohutka, Walsh and Laws all answered for the Mighty Macs to swing the advantage back in favor of the guests. Laws had the final basket of the run putting Immaculata ahead, 31-28, with 7:24 remaining in the third quarter. Macy Goldbach connected on a three for Haverford at the 6:04 mark tying the score at 31-all. Goldbach started an 8-0 run for the Fords that have the hosts a five-point lead, 36-31. Goldbach had seven of the eight points for Haverford. The Fords ended the third quarter with their largest lead (41-33) as they limited the Mighty Macs to just two Kohutka points with 3:44 to play.

Laws scored Immaculata's first basket of the fourth quarter with 4:43 to go while Haverford started the quarter on a 6-0 run to go ahead by 14 (47-33). Walsh completed the three-point play with 1:23 to play in the contest to put the Mighty Macs within 10 (52-42) for the Fords. However, Haverford sealed the victory at the line during the final 1:19 as the Fords were 6-for-6 on free throws. Kohutka added a layup with 26 seconds left to make the final margin, 58-44.
