IMMACULATA, Pa.- On Wednesday night, the Immaculata men's soccer team fell to the William Paterson University Pioneers by a final score of 2-0. The Macs (3-3-1) entered this contest looking to keep the momentum going after a decisive 5-0 victory on the road against the Delaware Valley University Aggies, however, the Pioneers proved to be too much.
In the first half the Macs and Pioneers each had a number of great chances as the Pioneers were able to log 12 shots with eight of them on goal, while the Macs had shots of their own with three finding their way on net. The Pioneers would open the scoring in the 28
th minute off a shot from sophomore midfielder Glehvjan Zotaj who manged to get one to sneak into the upper right hand corner of the net. Zotaj would add an assist later in the 37
th minute when he got the ball to freshman forward Jake Dufner who chipped the ball over a diving goalie. This would give the Pioneers a commanding 2-0 lead heading to the lockerroom.

Joe Lubonski played well recording six saves to help keep the Macs in the game. The Macs offense had many good looks at the cage but the Pioneer freshman goalie Kyle Quigley would stand tall making three saves to keep the Macs scoreless headed to the locker room.
In the second half each team once again generated strong chances but neither team would break into the goal column. Lubonski continued to stand tall making 13 saves on the day to help keep the Macs in the game. The game would ultimately end in a 2-0 defeat for the Macs.
The Macs next home game will be this coming Saturday at 3:30 when they welcome the Neumann Knights for the CSAC opener. This is the third part of a triple header at Draper Walsh Stadium beginning at 11 a.mm when women's soccer also squares off with Neumann.
