MEDIA, Pa.- In their 2016 season opener this afternoon, the Immaculata women's soccer team (0-1) outshot Penn State-Brandywine 20-9 and controlled the pace of play all day, but they were unable to capitalize on their opportunities in a 3-0 defeat.

The Nittany Lions got all three goals in the first half to take control of the game going to the break, and IU was unable to convert on their chances.

The Macs also had 15 shots on the cage and had four corners to just one for the opponent.

Penn State-Brandywine got their first goal just 2:26 into the contest and would add one in the 39
th minute before the final tally with just 12 seconds remaining in the half. Junior
Allie Tracey played the first half in goal and made two saves.

In the second half, IU allowed just two shots and played most of the game in the Nittany Lion end, but were kept off the scoreboard. Freshman
Sarah Roselli made her collegiate debut in the cage and had two saves in a clean second half.

The Macs will make their home debut on Saturday at 11 a.m. when they host Penn State-Abington at Draper Walsh Stadium.
