Men's Lacrosse Falls 10-8 To Centenary On Late Goals

Box Score

IMMACULATA, Pa. – After Mike Reardon tied the game at 8-8 for the Mighty Macs, Centenary scored twice during the final six minutes of the game as the Cyclones defeated Immaculata men's lacrosse, 10-8, in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on a cool and wet Thursday night at Draper Walsh Stadium.

Immaculata (3-8, 0-3 CSAC) scored the first goal of the game from Brendan Doyle just 45 seconds into play, but the Mighty Macs had to play catch-up for most of the contest.

Centenary (7-3, 3-0 CSAC) led 2-1 after the first quarter, but two Matt Krewson goals (14:16, 5:00) evened the score both times, as his second score made it 3-3 with five minutes to play. The Cyclones then scored three goals, two by Joey DeBiasse, during a 1:29 span to lead, 6-3. Reardon, assisted by Krewson, answered for the Macs with 1:26 left as the Mighty Macs trailed just 6-4 at halftime.

Immaculata was able to outscore Centenary during the third quarter, 2-1, to be down by just one goal (7-6) with one period left to play. Tyler Black won the face-off and raced down the field to score just eight seconds after Centenary's goal. Reardon then tallied his second goal of the contest as Brian Shultis set Reardon up with 10:52 to play.

The Cyclones extended their lead to 8-6 with 12:30 to go in the game. However, Krewson scored from Christian Fisher with 9:09 on the clock, and Reardon scored the tying goal on Shultis' pass with 9:01 left. The Mighty Macs were not able to find the back of the net as the Cyclones scored twice to rally for the win.

Reardon and Krewson each finished with three goals and one assist. Doyle and Black had one goal apiece. Black scooped up 10 ground balls and was 14-for-20 on face-offs for the Mighty Macs. Fisher and Shultis each recorded two assists, while Fisher also had two ground balls.

Christian Custodio made seven saves in goal for Immaculata.

Immaculata begins a three-game road string Saturday taking on Neumann at 2 p.m.
