Box Score CAMDEN, N.J.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team (4-6) suffered their second consecutive non-conference loss on Monday afternoon as they travelled to Rutgers-Camden (6-3) and took a 21-9 defeat at the hands of the Scarlet Raptors.

The Mighty Macs trailed 9-6 at the half, but Rutgers-Camden pulled away by outscoring IU 12-3 in the second half.

Senior
Shannon Neill had a solid game with two goals and two assists for four points, and sophomore
Hannah Verrecchia had three points with two goals and one assist. Sophomore
Rosemarie Reitman, coming off being named to the CSAC Weekly Honor Roll earlier this afternoon, scored two goals. Sophomore
Nicole Dominick, sophomore
Brittany Whaley, and freshman
Jackie Wood each had one goal apiece.

Elizabeth McBride, making her first career start in goal, had eight saves.

Whaley added a strong game defensively as well with a team-high five groundballs and three caused turnovers.

Verrecchia got the scoring started just 28 seconds into the game with a free position goal, and after the Scarlet Raptors scored two goals to take a 2-1 lead, Retiman netted both of her goals within 1:33 to put IU back in front 3-2 eight minutes into the contest.

Rutgers-Camden then scored three consecutive goals to go up 5-3, a lead they would hold on to the rest of the game. Dominick would score to stop the Scarlet Raptor run, but R-C bounced back with two more to take a 7-4 lead with 2:43 to go in the half.

The teams would trade two goals apiece, Wood and Neill got the tallies for IU, to send the game to halftime with Rutgers-Camden up 9-6.

The Scarlet Raptors opened with four straight goals to go up 13-6, but IU scored the next two behind Neill and Verrecchia, and after Rutgers-Camden scored one, Whaley got on the board from Neill to close the gap to 14-9.

Rutgers-Camden would then hold IU scoreless for the final 21:23 and score the final seven goals of the game to get to the 21-9 final.

The Macs will go back to CSAC play this Wednesday with a 4 p.m. road trip to Notre Dame.
