IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team (7-10) dropped their regular season finale on Wednesday afternoon, 12-10, to King's (5-9) in advance of their CSAC Quarterfinal matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Hannah Verrecchia scored four goals for the Macs and sophomore
Nicole Dominick added three goals and two assists for a team-best five points. Sophomore
Brittany Whaley, sophomore
Rosemarie Reitman, and senior
Meredith Katona each added one goal in the loss. Senior
Shannon Neill brought her career total to 105 assists after three more today.

In the first half, Dominick got the scoring started with her 30
th of the year three and a half minutes in, but the Monarchs ripped off three straight to take a 3-1 advantage at the 16:58 mark of the first half.

The Macs bounced right back as Verrecchia scored her 51
st and 52
nd of the season to tie the game at 3-3 midway through the first half. However, King's would score three goals in the final 11 minutes, including one with 11 seconds to go to take a 6-3 lead into the locker room. McBride made four saves in the opening thirty minutes.

The Macs would trim the deficit back to two goals on Whaley's goal with 26:35 to go, but King's reeled off three straight to go up 9-4. Verrecchia's third goal of the day halted the run and made it 9-5 with 16:32 remaining.

The Macs climbed back into the game after a goal from King's as they scored three straight themselves to cut the deficit to just two. Reitman, Katona, and Verrecchia each netted one to cut the deficit to 10-8 with 11:18 remaining.

The Monarchs scored two goals to put the game out of reach, but the Macs fought back late with two goals from Dominick to cut the deficit to 12-10. The Macs would run out of time in a 12-10 loss.

IU will now shift their focus to the CSAC Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. against Centenary.
