Marywood Uses Fourth Quarter To Defeat Men's Lacrosse, 9-7

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata men's lacrosse had its home finale spoiled by Marywood onn Saturday afternoon as the Pacers had a five-goal fourth quarter to lift the visitors to a 9-7 victory in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
 
Mike Reardon scored four goals to lead the Mighty Macs. Matt Krewson tallied one goal and three assists while scooping up three ground balls. Brendan Doyle had one goal and one assist. Tyler Black recorded one goal and collected three ground balls, and Samuel Zingaro had one assist.
 
John Abruzzo, playing in his final home game of his career, led the squad with four ground balls. James McLean picked up three ground balls and caused one turnovers. Jake Kemble forced two Marywood turnovers.
 
Immaculata (6-9, 2-4 CSAC) goalkeeper Christian Custodio made six saves and collected three ground balls.  
 
Doyle gave the Mighty Macs the early lead with his goal just over three minutes into the contest. However, Marywood responded with a goal less than one minute later, and the team were deadlocked at 1-1 at the end of the first quarter.
 
The Pacers (6-9, 4-2 CSAC) took the 2-1 advantage with Cody Bachman's second goal of the game 1:06 into the second quarter. Reardon tallied for Immaculata one minute later, tying the game at 2-2 with 12:54 to play.
 
Reardon's goal started a three-goal run by the Macs as Black and Krewson each scored to give the hosts a two-goal cushion, 4-2. Marywood got one goal back with 4:01 remaining in the quarter as Immaculata led, 4-3, at halftime.
 
Immaculata outscored Marywood in the third quarter, 2-1, as Reardon scored both goals for the Mighty Macs. The Mighty Macs went into the final quarter leading the Pacers, 6-4.
 
Following Marywood's goal to get within one (6-5), Reardon tallied his fourth goal of the afternoon with 8:04 to play for the 7-5 Immaculata advantage. However, two quick scores by the Pacers tied the contest at 7-7 with 6:11 to play. Marywood scored the go-ahead goal with 4:37 remaining, and added an insurance goal with 1:53 to go to seal the win.
 
Immaculata wraps up the 2016 season at Cabrini on Wednesday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m.
