IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University women's lacrosse had a 16-8 setback in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play Wednesday afternoon to visiting Neumann University at Draper Walsh Stadium.
 
Hannah Verrecchia scored four goals while having two ground ball and two draw controls. Brittany Whaley recorded two goals, five ground balls, three caused turnovers and three draw controls. Rosemarie Reitman finished with one goal and one assist, and Nicole Dominick tallied one goal. Shannon Neill dished out four assists while winning three draw controls.
 
Immaculata (5-8, 4-2 CSAC) had an answered for Neumann's (9-3, 6-0 CSAC) first two scores as Verrecchia tied the game at 1-1, and Dominick evened it at 2-all with 13:29 to go in the first half. The Knights then went on a three-goal run before Verrecchia scored with 3:03 to play, and another score by Neumann made it a 6-3 game at halftime.
 
Following an evenly played first half, Neumann came out and outscored Immaculata 10-5 during the second half. The Knights used a seven-goal run during a 10-minute span to turn an 8-6 game into a 15-6 affair.
 
In the early portion of the second half, Immaculata outscored Neumann, 3-2, as Whaley scored around a Verrecchia goal, which made it 8-6 with 20:52 remaining in the contest.
 
Bailey Krewson picked up four ground balls and caused two turnovers by Neumann. Bridget Polansky scooped up three ground balls. Elizabeth McBride made 12 saves in goal for the Mighty Macs.
 
Immaculata will be on the road taking on Centenary Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
