Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. – Immaculata men's lacrosse dropped a one-goal decision, 9-8, to Lebanon Valley in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.
The Dutchmen (1-1) scored a goal with seven seconds remaining in the first half to lead 5-4 at halftime, and it started a three-goal run for the hosts that put them ahead, 7-4, less than one minute into the third quarter.
After the Mighty Macs (0-3) got one goal back at the 10:49 mark of the third quarter as
Tyler Black buried a feed from
Samuel Zingaro, Delaware Valley scored twice more for the 9-5 advantage.
Immaculata came on strong towards the end of the third as
Matt Krewson assisted on goals by both
Christian Fisher and
Mike Reardon to cut the Mighty Macs deficit to 9-7 heading into the final quarter.
The Mighty Macs would able to hold the Dutchmen scoreless during the final 15 minutes, and Immaculata got within one of Lebanon Valley (9-8) with 2:39 to go when Reardon scored from Black.
Immaculata took two shots at the tying goal during the final minute but Lebanon Valley held on for the win.
Reardon scored four goals to lead the Mighty Macs. Black finished with one goal and two assists, while
Brian Shultis and Zingaro each tallied one goal and one assist. Fisher had one goal, and Krewson the two assists.
John Abruzzo collected a team-best four ground balls, and
Jake Kemble scooped up three ground balls while causing six turnovers.
Christian Custodio recorded 12 saves in the loss.
Immaculata hosts Delaware Valley at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
